The possible entry of Wakili Hon. Mutuse Mwengi in the to race replace outgoing Kibwezi West MP Hon Patrick Musimba who is eyeing Makueni Governor seat has ended the search for the next area MP more than a year to the next General Election. Kibwezi West Residents appear united in their resolve to make the Machakos County Chief of Staff Hon Mutuse Mwengi their next MP. In fact, his mere interest in the seat has send all other serious candidates in search of alternatives seats after concluding Hon Mutuse is “unbeatable.”
Political pundits have been quick to point out that the fear of Hon Mutuse Mwengi tis attributable to his solid credentials as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and an Holder of Master of Laws (LL.M) from University of Nairobi and currently pursuing a PhD in Law at very advanced stage. Hon Mutuse’s track record in Kibwezi West has also been described as impregnatable owing to the dozens of life-changing projects he has executed under the auspices of his Kibwezi Empowerment Foundation.
As the Patron and Benefactor of the Kibwezi Empowerment Foundation (KEF), Hon Mutuse MWengi has blazed the trail and set the bar very high by undertaking numerous transformative initiatives in Kibwezi West. Most of the projects are targeted at enhancing economic activities through supporting Chamas and vertical gardens and empowering the community through nurturing sports and talents in Kibwezi West and beyond.
But it is Mutuse’s innovative Build-A-Class Initiative that has captured the imaginations of Kibwezi West people and left an overwhelming majority of them convinced that he is the right man to take their Constituency to the next level as their man. Build A Class Initiative has been hailed for helping thousands of school children enjoy the benefit of learning in safe, secure and conducive environment.

Mutuse and his team has been able to reach 294 schools in all the 6 wards of Kibwezi West.

Mutuse team has also supported youth through sponsoring sports activities and tournaments and talent search, development and mentorship. Mutuse has also led efforts to promote Art & Music including hosting celebrities like Daniel Ndambuki of Churchill Show Director in Kibwezi West to help nurture emerging talents.
During the Covid-19 period, Mutuse’s presence was strongly felt on the ground in Kibwezi West through his well coordinated community charity events which saw him donate foodstuff worth millions to the vulnerable members of the society. These concerted community development efforts and his sterling record as a public servant are what convinced President Uhuru Kenyatta to honour Hon. Mutuse Mwengi with the Order of Grand Warrior (OWG) Award.
Wakili Hon Mutuse Mwengi is yet to officially declare his interest in the Kibwezi West MP seat being focused on his all-important role at the helm of Machakos County Civil Service. However, with the date of the Nguu/Masumba Ward By-Election set on 14th October, 2021, many Kibwezi West Residents have been quick to beg Hon Mutuse to show them the way. One thing is beyond doubt going into 2022, the race for Kibwezi West MP will end as soon as Hon Mutuse Mwengi declares his candidature.
