Early Life
Oga Obinna was born in Kakamega on 6TH June 1990. His Father is a Luo and a Kenyan while his mother is Igbo from Nigeria. This gives is Nigerian accent.
In his younger days, he used to preach with his father and siblings door to door. His father hoped that one day he would become a father and succeed him.
In an interview with Jalas, he highlighted of his strained relationship with his father. He said that his father was harsh on him as he never measured up to the standards of the other brother. He always used to be nervous around his father as he knew he could be in the wrong at any time and a hot slap would land on his face.
He said that the disagreements with his father reached a climax in 2009 and his father said he didn’t want to see him in his compound ever again. This was the beginning of being a street kid.
He left his home in 2009, he had no savings but luckily he had a ‘Kambabe phone’ which he sold at Ksh.1000. The money was used for transport from Kisumu to Nairobi.
He recalls how he could not afford even the cheapest Ksh. 50 yogurt on a stopover in Nakuru. He persevered the hunger all through the journey to Nairobi. He however disclosed he has made peace with his father and they are getting along.
Oga Obinna worked several odd jobs in Nairobi like, beba(Offloading job), makanga(bus conductor), and as a waiter in a hotel among other jobs.
Career
Obinna started acting at local clubs where he used to earn between KSh 300 and KSh 500 per gig. His Nigerian accent got him noticed quickly and this name grew over the years.
He co-hosted a radio show at National Media Group. He also worked at Kiss FM where he worked alongside Kamene Goro on a morning show.
Furthermore, he hosted a TV show on K24 and has been involved in many media projects.
He hosts a YouTube channel show called Obinna TV, where he interviews popular people in the country in a comedic style.
Family and Baby Mamas
He is a father of 4 beautiful children, 3 girls and 1 boy. They are from three different baby mamas. He likes spending time with his children. It still puzzles many how he seems to co-parent with all three baby mamas without much drama. He is very passionate about kids and in one of his YouTube interviews, he was offended when one SteveMassage publicly declared his hate for kids.
Baby Mama Journey
In a YouTube interview with Jalas, he said he knew his first baby mama, Immaculate when he was working as a store manager. He later got a job as an office manager and Immaculate used to visit him and eventually got pregnant.
He knew the second baby mama when he was working at a nightclub. They used to be close friends, she lived in Ngara and he could visit her occasionally. One day he lost his job and went for consolation from his friend and one thing led to another and pap! Second born.
For the third baby mama, they had known each other for quite some time and were living together. One day he joked and asked her why she wasn’t yet pregnant. At that time she was already pregnant and got very upset, they had many issues later and Obinna woke up and left the house and everything in it.
The fourth baby is from the second baby mama, the second born used to throw tantrums when she got home from school and did not find him at home. Obinna had to go consult the mother and that’s how the fourth born came around.
