It is a sad day for comedian Eddie Butita as his YouTube channel with over 360 subscribers disappeared. This follows the ongoing # reject the finance bill demos where his followers pressured him to announce which side he was on. i.e. If he is for the bill or against it. In a post on his Facebook account yesterday he wrote:
The Pressure Creases
Recently, I have faced criticism for not publicly stating my psition on the Finance Bill 2024. I want to address the issue directly and share the state of affairs sorrounding my recent actions.
I understand the frustration and disconnect many feel with the current system. It is clear that we need a proper structure to ensure our voices are heard and represented effectively. Often, our leaders lose touch with those they represent. The results are what is happening currently.
Over the years, I have shied away from making political stands, but I agree this is not a political moment, with my status, my silence is not warranted. It “creases.”
The Finance Bill, as it stands, is not okay. I played a role and submitted my concerns and will do it again when needed because I am a citizen and a businessman. I want the best for my countrymates, family, friends, and colleagues.

After announcing his stand some of the followers supported him while others claimed he might be sent by politicians to talk to Gen Z and probably become their spokesperson which they strongly disagreed.
It is yet to be known the reason behind the disappearance of the YouTube channel, however, some of the reasons that can lead to its disappearance might include;
- Violation of YouTube policies
- Copyright infringement
- Account deletion by owner
- Hacking or unauthorized access
- Community strikes
- Spam and deceptive practices
- Inactive account
- Legal issues
- Violating terms of service
- Impersonation, etc.
